Swallow & Ariells by James Northfield
This 1920s advertising poster was created by Northfield for Australia's first biscuit company, Swallow and Ariell. Northfield was at the forefront of the movement to create advertising posters that were based around pictures rather than text, and which appealed specifically to Australian tastes. Depicting a little girl pointing to a packet of Swallow and Ariell's biscuits, this vintage Australian poster is a classic example of this 'new' kind of poster art.
